Battery degradation

The gradual reduction in an EV battery's ability to store energy as it ages and is used.

Battery degradation is the gradual loss of usable energy-storage capacity over time and use. It is different from sudden battery damage caused by a covered event, and it is not automatically an insurance claim.

The vehicle maker’s warranty may address certain capacity loss when its specific conditions are met. Check the warranty document for its measurement method, threshold, time limit, mileage limit and exclusions.
